I've been running a Hyde Racing screen on my '07 for a couple of years now, and no issues.
Works WAYYYYYY better than the laminar lip that was on the bike previously. |

I've got a laminar lip and have tried mounted it high, mounted it low, changed the angle up high, changed the angle down low, tweaked with the amount of spacing off of the mask and after all of the fiddling with the damed thing, I'd still give it a bout a 6 outta 10 in terms of effectiveness. The Hyde looks good but it looks pretty tall to be mounted on the mask without a considerable amount of deflection and flopping hither and yon at speed. Did you do any sort of bracing on the backside of the mask to stiffen it up once you mounted the Hyde on the bike? On a previous 640A I mounted a 3 hole Ztechnik windscreen meant for the 650 Dakar bikes. The screen was tall, but it was quiet and calm behind it at speed-but man, did that thing flop around and deflect at speed! To stop the flop/deflection I did weld up a mask brace when I had the Ztechnik screen and attached it using the same mounts used by the roadbook holder. The brace completely stopped the flop. Dirty

I have never noticed any deflection of the wind shield or the cowling its mounted to. I don't ride super fast, but have had the bike up to around 75 with no issues.
It has now survived two years of abuse in the woods without any issues.

hello all, i just picked up an 07 640 adv, i have a lot of reading to do here. i just serviced it up and did a valve adjust. i have put 500 miles on so far and i am liking it. i posted an ad in the flea market, but the bike came witha low renazco, and would like to trade for the tall renazco. if anyone here is interested in some swapping let me know.
