Had some fUn & then craSHEd

This post I would like to dedicate to Chrisbarnes1 (fellow member here...)

Below is a link from last Sunday's ride ... Nice place with lots of high speed off road riding ...

@ 32'1ο'' you can see me flying over the bike ...

Everything is fine, both myself and the bike sustained minimal damage (and yes I drink as I type )

A couple of years ago I bought from Chris one set of kevlar protectors for the Adv tank.. They have served me well so far and last Sunday they performed excellent ... They took a serious hit and did not survived but thankfully the tank is ok ... So I am off for a new set ...

Below is a picture of the damaged protector ...

Good footage and Great riding area! Nice to get up from that and just ride on. Where is that trail? (I'm guessing in Greece somewhere?)

it is indeed in Greece in an area called ''Mandra'' (near Athens) I can upload the Kmz file later so you can see in Google Earth the exact path ...
Every time I fall down if I do not get back on the bike again weird fears start to appear and I feel that the front will wash out, the rear does not have enough traction etc ... ... but once I get up and get on the bike straight away I do feel better ...

Good I had the camera on top of my helmet as well ... if it was on its side I think it could have gone to meet its creator

Anyone interested in trading one of your KTM640ADVs for an 87 4runner AND a Honda XR650L? I like the silver and the all orange ones, unsure of the years.

Proposing a trade like that would require a pic at least, not to mention it, arises the question if you know anything more than color about the bikes?

I've ridden two or three of them. And know the kick start is on the right side of the bike. Gotta have a color preference though, right??

Trade pics:

I will of course start an appropriate thread in the flea market.

Hi!

What do you guys think about the H&B crashguard? I have them on my bike, but the righthand one just cracked today at the lower mounting point + bended on the tank. Is it worth welding it or should I just throw it away? I like the idea of it protecting the costly tank and the fuel petcock, but as I've read it'll just keep cracking always.. PO of the bike told me he have welded it twice during 5000 miles:(
Is there any other solutions? Or the tank is rough enough to withstand the abuse?

Thanks

Sorry, kick start on the 640 Adv is not on the right side of the bike... unless you were facing backwards For that matter it's not even on the right side of the bike... you can have another guess... if you get that answer wrong you will have carefully reconsider this move....

I think LaOutbackTrail actually knows where the kick start is... and he has thrown a curve ball, that's all...

Question Fuel Petcock

I have a 1999 640 adventure and fuel seeps out of the fuel petcock when in the run position. No fuel seepage when in the closed position. Are these rebuildable with new o rings or do I buy a new petcock?

Thanks

yes they are rebuildable. I cleaned mine and bought a new one from KTMworld. Just look at their oem parts lists. They aren't very cheap!
