Did you replace it with the OEM vacuum fuel pump? Not a known problem that I have seen.

My 07', you might notice it looks a lot like one of BajaDad's 640's, as a matter of fact, real similar, right down to the serial number . . .

Yes I put in a Mikuni DF52-136 31 litres per hour The only difference between the one I took out is the new one has a dual outlet. I have blocked that up. As I was advised to do. It is pushing out a bit of fuel and air The float height is OK
I am at a loss what to try next?

I've only had mine just on 3 months now and loving it. So far only day trips with tar and a bit of dirt roads. I try to get out every weekend for a few hours and sometimes longer. Summers coming up, so off we go

The Dual outlet pump is not the same inside as the oem pump... The oem has a spring valve inside as to where the 2 outlet pump does not... I believe the 2 outlet pump puts out more pressure and will overwhelm the float valve in the carb... I believe you could make it work if you ran one pump outlet into the carb and the other as a bypass back into the tank by T'ing it into the crossover line...
