A plea to the masses I am trying to find a set of passenger pegs so my son can ride with me. I know I can buy the parts for $$$. I'm hoping to find one of you out there that has a set in the garage collecting dust.

Is there an updated side panel ( for a 99') that allows for easier airbox access? It sucks to have to remove the pannier rack to access the air box. It looks like some of the bikes here have a different setup.

Thanks guys!
Anyone?

My eyeball says you can buy the newer plastics and bolt them on.

The black wedge shaped bit is held on by 4 bolts that go directly into the airbox. Do you have 4 bolts holding on your airbox lid?

have to check my mainshaft bearing though ... didn˙t know or read about the camshaft bearings.
Cam bearing failure is a common problem on the LC4's. My piston and rings looked ok, but I replaced them since it was torn down.

nice job :)
I´ve read through the posts and realized that; thanks anyway. bought all the parts the other day so I only have to take a day or two of vacation (and put the kids and wife on hold ) to replace things; will clean the carb while I`m at it, and replace the seals and bearings on water pump.

Hi, I have a 02 adv and need to redo the fuses behind headlights. If anyone has already done this did you replace with the same type of fuse or if possible can you post pic of your new design. Also my side stand bolt has snapped, is there a workaround to stop this happening. Finally does anyone know where I can get the sticker kit for the Dakar 01 bike.
My bike did a 4500km trip with no dramas except for the rider, awesome bike.
Cheers Ron

Oi,

some folks have installed small fuse boxes behind the headlights - might be a tidy replacement setup if that's what you want to do.

Your sidestand bolt snapped once or repeatedly?

You can have stickers made now - Happe in the EU has a mfg. that can make stickers that work on unpaintable gas tanks.

So, did anyone see the episode of Cafe Racer this past week, where a guy named Mace Livingston takes a stock 640 and turns it into a steam punk cafe racer?

The bike had an ADV sticker on the front fender. Anyone here know the guy?

I did. Interesting looking result, but thought they cut up a really good bike and ended up with something that was worse

That was one of the saddest things I've ever seen done to a motorcycle.
Hope he never touches another one.

If I'd known they were going to do that to a perfect bike, I'd given them $500 and and my bike to cut up!! It pissed me off to see that happen
