Harbor Freight carries these now.

Don't know if this has been posted or not, but Harbor Freight in my area keeps these in stock now.

The shipping for the cap will probably be nearly as much as a brand new tube.

Tractor Supply Company - like about $5 for a tube and a cap

Greetings,
'Sorry if this has been mentioned, but does anyone know if there's a tool tube available that has internal dimensions at least this large: 10.3" L. x 4.0" D. x 4.2" H. (26cm L. x 10cm D. x 10.7cm H.)
I'm thinking about carrying one of these:

Yesterday I bolted up my new tool tube and today the tabs failed so I guess the next step will be a stainless clamp, I guess I was too hard on it and thankfully I did not loose the tools. I'll probably test it next time full of powdered sugar so if I lose it the lucky person who finds it will think he struck it rich on a drug transfer gone bad.

found one in Brisbane

I finally got around to do what everyone else is talking about... I found one of these tubes here in Australia... in a tractor shop. Thanks for all the posts here... I love this forum.

Just in case there are other inmates from Oz that are looking for this tube... contact Rob (rob[at]fieldquip.com) from Fieldquip. He was very helpful!

I used the Vario Pannier braces... works just fine..

Here are some photos.

Cheers

It's a good thing the illustrative how-to is on the side or else I'd be completely lost!

Just picked up a new to me DRZ 2 days ago and just so happened to have two of these on my tractor implements, so I took them off and modified the stock DRZ rack to mount them up. Pretty slick if I do say so myself!

Welded on bolts for the single bolt mount:

Made and welded on tabs for the dual bolt mount:

Everything all bolted up for fitment:

Just have to re-paint the rack and I should be good to go!

I haven't found one. If you do, please do post. I had the exact same idea as you...

Here ya go. It'll fit a 2L bottle of fuel (originally a bottle of Pepsi) perfectly, oddly enough, it will NOT fit a 2L bottle of coke. It's maybe 2mm thicker. The Pepsi bottle is such a perfect fit that you put it in and it takes a few seconds for it to come down while expelling the air. If you leave the bottle in there while going through mountains and it expands you sometimes have to open the bottle to release pressure so you can pull it out of the tube.

The #289-33273 is for lap joints and one half is slightly larger then the other half. #289-33279 is for a butt joint and no place to trap dirt etc.
