A mate suggested this may be a sign of running too lean. Before my first service would be helpful to understand if he is right ?

Cheers

Techically yes but No. It can be blue all the way back to the pipes. Get it dirty and you won't see it blue anymore.

Received my G2 throttle cam last night.

On the way to work, significant improvement. Didn't even feel any jerkyness, even shoved it in a higher gear to test.

However, in the carpark 1st gear around 2.5K rpm it was slightly jerky.

Took a bit to get used to, you loose the first 20% of throttle response.

Renazco Racing

I Put this here as well as the main thread it really applies to the 990ADV readers

I'm in the process of Farkling up my 2012 990ADV which is sitting in the workshop in Dalby Moto.
Being a Kato the first call I made was to James & Sonia Renazco in the states to order my new seat.
Only to find out that James has designed the NEW ERGO seat especial for the 990.
I put my order in & became the first out of the gate all sorted!
While we were chatting I asked about the Scott's Triple clamp setup with risers & was given a great discount(cheaper than anywhere I have found)so I'm a happy bunny.

They sent through the invoice the next day & I paid straight away!(yeah I kno unusual)

Anyway in the meantime I'm looking for new front springs due to my fat bastard status & nobody anywhere has any, 3 weeks at least, maybe. My bike is sitting there waiting as Dalby are kindly gonna put the springs in & Damper on as the bike is in bits out of the crate!

I happen to mention this to James & he tells me it is no problem to get springs, he doesn't sell them but can source them if it will help!
What a Champ !!!!

So he was as good as his word & they left yesterday !!!

Thank you James & Sonia, that's the way to do business !!

I am not sure what sort dirt road that was down, but am constantly amazed at how fast they can be ridden down tracks and dirt roads. I know that on Cannonball is pretty common to sit on 150-160 for long stretches of dirt at at a time and once topped 200 down a nice newly rolled bit of dirt. Even on hard packed sand on the beach 160 doesn't feel anywhere near out of control.

I don't say that to brag, I am just joe average when it comes to riding skills nothing at all special.

So I imagine to people with the talent of Meoni, Coma, Depres etc. for them it is part and parcel of a day in the office.

I'm a rider of VERY average skills & the 950 makes my eyes pop! Yeah Baby! However I reckon the 640 adv is the best bike for making you look way more competent than what you might be . Absolutely nothing could scare you on a 640; bring it on & the 640 would suck it up & spit it out. How good would one of those things been with another 15hp
