Great start! Gonna take a lot of thread pages to tell the 17 day, 6500 mile story! Seems like only yesterday we we rolled into the Moses Lake Motel 6 to start the journey!

Great shot of you two pussy-whipped biatches checking in with mama to see how your peckers are doing locked up in her purse.

Here is the original ride route... we ended up changing the route a bit... I'll have to get a screen shot of the actual track log.

day 1

getting out of work for 2 1/2 weeks was hard but WTF, you only go thru life once so if you plan a year in advance then youcan count on one thing for sure
Rain for your departure

but i just washed my bike and i cant be looking like a ADV tramp for two weeks with a dirty bike. so we had better just wait it out and have a beer while we wait...
WTF, loaded for alaska and loaded for bear....and beer, eh !!

So on the road we go. WTF-OVER and the Big Dog. going to Moses Hole Washington to meet up with IBMIKE for our first night of singing Koombayhahaha by the campfire. You know, Man Shit !!
shit, only 50 miles and my stickers ahve fallen off

thats OK, I'll get more up north
We made it to our destination for the night and low and behold, looks who's ass made it from Japan. Uncle Sam did let the IBM out of the Silo...

Hugs and kisses (big wet sloppy ones of course) were exchanged
We got our shit unpacked and covered the bikes for the night and startd looking for some grub for dinner

shit I left my Beer Butt Bat Cooker at home...Dammit !!

Ok then, Subway it is....
Time to snooze. We have a big day tomorrow. somewhere around 450 miles to Williams Lake BC to meet up with Eric.

Shouldnt she be topless considering the theme of this ride (or at least the thread name)?

Tag, I'm it! So we roll out of the rack after listening to Tim rattle the damn walls all night and head off for our "official" first day.

We stopped by Dry Falls WA, which is a very cool spot if you are ever close!

Then it was off to Williams Lake, BC and our first twilight zone experience!

(for you impatient FFs, here is the link to my SmugMug Gallery, where all my 1500+ pics from the trip are: IB Mike's Alaska TBT '08 Gallery

Would love to post more than a teaser... but it is midnight here... gotta hit the rack...

Meanwhile, in Seattle...

...I (Eric) finally found a way to pack all the crap onto the Caponord I intended to take. After several hours of trying different combinations of duffel bags and where to put the TKC 's etc. I came up with a workable solution. Workable that is until I needed to get at something inside a pannier or the duffel.

I had more time off the Mike, Tim and Mikey so I planned on splitting off on the way back from Prudhoe at Fairbanks and head to Denali for some backpacking. Besides the typical m/c trip stuff I had heavy hiking boots, a 90 liter pack and all the stuff needed for over a week in the backcountry of Denali NP. At about 160lbs, it was essentially the same as having a slightly chubby pillion.
