TAT GPS files

You might try searching on the gps section here at ADV. Might also want to try KLR650.net?

I might be interested in riding the eastern section again?

Many have asked the same thing, on this site and elsewhere. The reason it's not available for free is because the guy who did all the work planning the route and creating the maps deserves to be paid for his hard work.

TAT East October 08

Ok, Who's in? Ride from Jellico TN to Lula Miss. Four Days, three nights camping in state parks, lots of gravel road, stream crossing, and a whole day of paved roads (day 2). What fun! I have all the route sheets and maps. Rode this a few years ago and had a ball. I need a trip!!

I will be riding my Ural Tourist "Tater"

I forgot the fun parts: Chasing a donkey into a trailer park, swerving around farm dogs and generally scaring the SHE#$@ out of 30,000 head of cattle!! We even float tested a 1200 GS last time, and yes they float very well!! :) I know, I chased it down the stream. Rider to remain un-named!!

Umm, Dates are open! Suggest some, Water was about this deep :)
Sorry, I just had to, really the water depends on rain in the area, the deepest that we made it through was about 1.5 ft deep. There were several down close to Miss that we had to go around. This was back in 06 that I rode last on a KLR. I think the Ural would be more fun as you have no fear of falling in the gravel. The Mississippi gravel has to be experienced first hand to really appreciate how hard it is to ride on. They are all round river rocks and some places it was 6" deep. Very difficult riding imho.

Anyway the trip is a blast! I will need to dig out my old route sheets and maps. Are there any holidays that we can take advantage of to extend vacation time in October? I am trying to get my wife to come ride the trail also. She will be on an Aprilia Pegaso 650. She's a great rider!!!

More to come later!

I started his thread, and then dropped out. Among other things, my computer died, and seems to have taken with it all my FAVORITES links, addresses, passwords & user names, etc.

I now have a new computer, and it is partially set up. Does anyone still want to do the TAT in hacks this fall?

You still planning on doing this ride? I'd love to take my new (to me) Gear-Up on a trip this fall. Mid to late October should be doable. Pretty booked until then.

I'm staying tuned....

I would love to ride it again on the ural. I am all ears, but also have limited time off. Lets shoot some date out there and see what we can all agree on. I am for late Sept/October. Less heat. The ride is mostly paved roads now, but still fun.
