We have had absolutely gorgeous weather the last week or so but how long can it last. I'm over 800 miles from the start of this ride and if it looks like we will be riding in rain most of the time, I'm going to bail. I've ridden 10's of thousands of miles in the rain but I don't normally go out and choose to. There are too many good rides to do on good days, so no point in riding this if a storm is brewing. Not saying there is one, just a heads up to my thoughts.

Does anyone have the TAT TN/MS Sections on GPS? Mine are gone and my gps now will not take routes. Basically I have the roll chart and maps but that's it. I hope to use the roll chart, but I think it will slow us down some.

Forgot to say that the roll charts will slow us down some as my bike odometer is in KL not miles.

Looks like I'm going to have to bail on this ride. Best laid plans of mice and men, oftimes go astray, as they say. It will be next spring before I can put the TN TAT behind me. Have a great ride. Sorry I can't make it. Looks like the weather will be great for you, though.

I did see those. Way cool! Looks like he could have gone around that water hole if he wanted to, but what's the fun in that? I use to ride a KLR and love the bike. There will be a KLR rig riding with us on this trip. I will make sure we get lots of photos of the bike in action.
Sure wish we had a few more riders coming along with us! As of today we have the following: Me-Ural My Pretty Half: Aprilia Pegaso My Dad: KLR Bonifact57: KLR Rig Possibly: Donnie FM Miss: KLR Where are all you off road riding Urals? You got a Ural Tourist kicking your butts!! Ohh well, we can compare muddy bikes when I get back home. Meet us in Jellico on October 11th at Days Inn. If you dare! :) SD |

All my reservations are made, the bike's back from the shop with new tires, and I'm good to go. See everybody there!

TAT East Complete!! We are in Selmer TN
Arrived in Selmer today. What a fantastic trip. We all made the trip without any bike problems, or incidents. We rode some very rough roads and some really pretty back country. Passed many a farm dog, some ran away, some run to bite you. Today we had one horse get out in the road between our group causing some problems.
I will post pictures once we get back home. We are leaving Selmer TN in the morning for the Tellico Plains TN Motorcycle Campground. We should be there tomorrow (Thursday) evening. We will be the very dirty and stinky folks arriving there. Scott |
