Did you ask them to match the price?

I did at mine and the did it without hesitation.

Just a thought!

Geneva, IL BB Had five in stock at $539 today while I was in Chicago on business. Riverside, IL BB still had a dummy on display and price tag of $449 but were out of stock. Asked the sales guy lto ook up all stores in Chicagoland and there were at least four different prices - $899 to $449 - seems like very silly behavior for a national chain.

Called my Best Buy in Garland, TX to price match $539.00 at a Georgia Best Buy. Got there and the manager said his guy screwed up and wouldn't sell it to me despite my angry protest. He said they can't price match across regions.

Yep, sure did. They wouldn't budge. Said something about inventory being different at each store...blah, blah, blah. He DID offer it to me for $674. I replied "no thanks, I came to your store because I had seen Best Buy selling these units for $539...I'm gonna go find one for $539."

I think he was being foolish. Here he is managing this great, big new store,,,,and I bet there's not 3 other people in the whole place. Let's just say folks aren't knocking themselves over tryin' to get in there and spend some money.

I was skeptical but after reading these posts, I called three Best Buy's in Charlotte NC. All of the ones I called stated they did not have any in the inventory and if they did, the price would be $899.00. I took a chance and called the last one at Mid-Town Square, Charlotte- brand new Best Buy and they had few on hand and quoted me a price of $494.99. I printed out the coupon from Dseric and they accepted and so my out the door price for a brand new Zumo 550 is $444.99 plus NC sales tax of $32.26 for a total out the door price of $477.25!!!!!!!!

Thanks a bunch to ADVriders.

Just tried calling to see if they would ship one to dice. He never did say if they had any left.

I went into one today looking for a Zumo and no go, it's a new store and they never even had the Zumo's.
But I was looking for a cheaply handheld, and saw a weird bubble-pack Legend HCx with a car kit (dash mount, 12vdc adaptors, suction cup, etc. AND a full version of City Nav NT, memory card) ...the whole package with a crossed out price tag of 387$. I asked how much, it was marked down to 189$
So do keep your eyes peeled while in there...there might be some other noteworthy values.

Garmin has made no price adjustment on the Zumo from what I gathered off the dept. manager - they are just moving to more 'mainstream' units. They once tried to have every consumer unit on their shelves, but too big of a marketplace to take up that much store footprint I guess?
