Oh, and somewhere Melton said he was doing a "friend" a favor... well according to my 15yr old son - as I was kicking him out of bed 5:45 this am - my friends "SUCK"

But thanks for an easy one and bringing it a little closer to home (still a 3hr RT). Lovely part of the world as we drove through in early morning mist.

I did in fact bring it North " a little". To be exact I brought it 34.1mi bearing 334deg which ought to be good enough. Besides, it's close enough to home, that if you call ahead, I'll have some cold lemonade waiting for you in the shade.

You're in "the valley" now, and of course it's full of history. The old north-south road predating the superslab is affectionately known in gambling circles as "snake eyes". It's a much better way to commute than getting in the 18-wheeler conga line which runs parallel. Your crossroad occurs at what might have been the location of settlement with a defiant attitude in "injun" times. Just east of this country store, you'll be on the way to hell I suppose. Or at least a road that implies it leads somewhere you wouldn't want to live.

When you'r done, head back west throught the light and take just about any road towards the mountains. It's all fertile, full of springs, and narrow blacktop made for carving.

Trains do still pass through here on occasion. Bring a penny for the tracks.
