OK - so a definition for y'all - "getting Bruce'd"

One of the local players, Bruderide, went out on a decent ride to get a tag. He rode, photo'd, and returned home to post. But unfortunately someone else was quicker on the internet hookup and posted in advance. Getting scooped on a tag has since been known as getting Bruce'd.

Which has led some of us to throw a laptop and scout out WiFi access in advance.

The rule we've maintained is the first one that posts the pic gets the tag.

We've had a lot of fun with it and even learned a bit more about stuff around the state.

Enjoy it and appreciate getting scooped, I think we all have been at least once.

think west and south of the last few tags.

it's a soaring field of dreams, 2VA3 and possibly named after a wizard of old. it has a nice long gravel drive to get where I took the photo.

It's on a VA route of three digits, from the east is the fun way to find it, the name of the road changes crossing the Appomattox River a mile or so away and it's the county line. from the west one will deal with a military hwy headed to a fort.

What if someone already HAS a picture of his bike at a spot? Insta-tag?

Also, if I have a picture of my bike at another cool spot, do I have to go there again to set a new tag?

But

the point is to try to recreate the picture of the original to some degree. Unless the OT (Original Tagger) sets a tag that is either hazardous or illegal to try to recreate, your goal is to put your bike in a similar "pose" and take a picture of the quarry. In meltonbmn's case it would have been of the glider.

Hopefully we'll continue to be lucky when people make tags out of things that can freaking fly, that they'll stay there long enough to be tagged.

It's a learning process.
