ok... found it.... Euro 2645.00 on todays rate.

It looks exquisite true, but very expensive. So no Ed, better cancel the hotel room.

Might just have to go to Estonia....

What can I say - we have to live with these kind of prices. A new TA is R96000! That's 8150 Euro today! Tell you what, the local dealers don't use KY when they brutalise us.

Can't understand the way things work. Back in 2003 I bought my 1st and last new car ever (damn rust bucket Toyota). Cost me R142000 here. It's assembled in SA (one of the largest right hand drive manufacturers in the world, with cheapish labor). It then get's exported to Oz where you could buy it off the floor for R97000. HTH is that possible. Surely export costs, transport, etc should add to the cost?!?!? Makes me sick

Don't let it stop you visiting though. We could rent you a KLR or DR 650 for a spin - just gimme time to get my DR BIG running again.

It's decided now. Tomorrow morning I will ride my friends DR to it's new owner...
My friend spent very much time in the garage with this bike, whereas he has very little spare time at all.

But he's planning to get himself a beemer in the meanwhile he's riding a ZZR1100.

He looked at his bike for the last time just an hour ago. I (also him I guess) haven't felt SO sorry yet when selling a bike.

Actually I usually don't sell bikes. I only buy one once in a while

This is his bike:

The Maltese government impose, until recently at least, an 80% registration tax on any new car, which basicly doubles the price. We have 8 Italian channels on TV besides another 70 odd international channels, all with lovely commercials of new cars that go for half the price for what we can get them for. And Italy is an hour away by plane from Malta and Malta is in the EU since 2004 - where all things are supposed to be equal !!!
Having said that, we are a nation of 400,000 with approx 300,000 vehicles on a surface of 316 sq kilometres.... go figure that one out

Lancashire On the way up to Rivington Barn (Pike). Aparently there was a fire on the Pike when the Armada was sighted so that everyone was ready /forwarned that the Spanish were on there way to invade.
