Maybe 2 DR750's up for grabs in Australia
Don't stress boys i have 2 DR750's (88 Orange) and i think i might sell them together, so if anyone is interested PM me. I just don't have the time to work on them. And i still have a big crush on the Honda XRV 750 Africa Twin, so if anyone know where one is LET ME KNOW!!!
Peter

Thanks. Yeah, I had one from new for 10 years and did 150k on it, so I was keen to get another one. It was lucky I won it as I only bidded 100 bucks more than the next bidder. I'll pick it up tomorrow and report back then.
My old one was far from stock, but at this stage I plan keep this one standard. ![]()

Too many projects
Please guys, don't tell me you're selling your BIGs, it was hard enough not to bid on the ebay one this week. I've got five bikes (three projects) and and MG (project) in the garage. The problem is that I would really like a bog stock, fully restored, first model 750 next to my much modified for adventure touring DR750. I have a feeling that if my wife sees another bike roll into the garage I'll have to find somewhere else to live. She's very understanding, but, I'm guessing there's a limit!
She's been very good as all these parcels have arrived recently: Hessler GRP exhaust Wilbers shock Ricky Cross crashbars H&B pannnier mounts Gobi panniers Gobi top box Ohlins forks with CRF450 triples and wheel Hessler footpegs And some other small (easily hideable) bits and pieces. Oh, OK then, maybe just one more...........

ONE HACK AT A TIME
|
Well unfortantely for me I missed out on the 750 on ebay
but congrats to Tony for winning it. In hindsight I now have 6 bikes and having a 7th may have been a bit much to handle but if a special one appears room will be quickly made for it. Tony when you sold your old 750 did it still have the frame painted yellow ? Peter let me know what Shannon decides to do with yours I may buy one of you if he doesnt take both. Simon too much tapping on the keyboard now get to work and get those bits fitted we need PHOTOS !!!!! Shannon once you get a taste of a BIG it's hard to resist another !!!!!

I did have a set of ADV 990 forks but parts for the big ktm are so damn expensive it would have worked out 3 times the price than puting in a set of wr or crf forks. The conversions are pretty easy to do, the hardest bit being modifying the lock stops to allow them to work. |

Hi there,
after some busy weeks with the German Big Meeting and my own Suzuki GN-Meeting I took my time to catch up with this thread. Nixt asked: 'Other thing is about the MARLBORO version rear tanks http://www.suzuki-classic.de/i/modelle/dr750_dakar.jpg I LOVE THESE tanks, I saw it on some DRs but I have no idea where to find something similar' Stefan Hessler of www.dr-big-shop.de has some. But I think, he won't part with them ... Other option could be to have a look at the present KTM rear-tanks. They're not quite the same but come very close to the originals. Good luck and best regards to you all, Bambi

Hi all!
Welcome newbies! Thanks for the pics and vids everyone. Hard to keep up all the funny writeups. Bluesman! Nice start of a tripreport. Already waiting for more... Pictures and such. Tomorrow we will go to see the culture of Latvia for four days. I'll be on my DR (fork is not braced but I do have a nice new braced brakeline that I swapped from my KTM MX bike, it had too good brakes ).There's also gonna be a ZZR1100 (he USED to rode a DR800) And last but not the least Ducati Multistrada, incase it decides to start tomorrow morning (I actually love the bike, but c'moon Italians, what happend to reliability?)Morse out! (I just wired my walkie-talkie to the bike, so it get's the juice and everything from under the seat) |
