I tried to start it but the button didn't work and when I pulled it apart it had a broken part. I don't know if this is why it wouldn't start because it had worked before but I need another one now anyhow.

Cheers,

Hey Ausi,

I had the same issue with that switch so I took it right off and used a dirtbike kill button (momentary on) for a starter. I got rid of the kill switch since I always use the key and decomp lever to shut the bike down.

I don't remember what i did with the wires for kill switch, if they were wired together or apart but it should be a simple test if you decide to go that route.

On another note, it would appear that it is close to if not the same switch that is on my DRZ. Looks like a pretty standard suzuki kill/start switch.

Hope that helps!

Shannons getting back on another DR750

Shannons DR will be on the road to Woolongong at 4.00am Thursday Morning, it takes about 8 Hrs to Get to Woolongong from Melbourne. A mate of mine is coming for the ride so we should be there about 12 ish. So it's drop off DR and pick up XTZ, then head home. Round trip about 16 Hrs, should be home around 9.00 ish "Big Day", i hope Shannon will be happy with his Purchase.

Shift Levers

Guys,

I want to replace my shift lever before it breaks, but can't work out if it is a 11 mm spline or 12 mm spline.

If it is an 11 mm spline, am I right in believing that it is the same as the DR650 lever as per:

http://www.mcsonline.com.au/index2.php? ... Itemid=126

If it is a 12 mm splice, will either of these two work AOK:

http://www.mcsonline.com.au/index2.php? ... Itemid=126

Thanks,

Shane

Hey Berg,

I am sure I will be.. Then I need to start getting it ready for rego! Looks Good though so if it looks as good in real life I'll be happy after regretting letting go of the old DR to Rob (but I do love how it looks now Rob!! )

Will post Pics once picked up. Hey has anyone taken the other one? I'd grab it but I have to feed my kids sometime in the near future..

Cheers Shannon

Last week I was going to outback New South Wales with my mate Denis New South Wales is a state of Australia.
First we headed to a old freinds property at Nyngan, we stopped at Trundle it has been said that you need a cut lunch to cross the road, man is it wide.

After fueling up we headed towards Cobar on the black top, when about 10klm,s out of Cobar Denis,s bike started coughing and spluttering then stopped.
Straight up we wired the kick stand switch wires together as this is usually the cause 99 pecent of the time, ok we are of again, then it starts happening once more 1klm out of town so we took the tank, side covers headlight shroud all of and checked the conections, and allso after this drained the carb.
Put it all back together and the bloody thing kept blowing 30 amp fuses, did the pull apart thing again and it still happened.
OK time for me to get Claud the owner of the local bike shop and pick the bike up after 7hours lost its a long story it was dirty fuel with very fine red dust sticking the needle allmost closed and not getting enough fuel.
We camped at Cobar

Ok the next day we headed straight to Willcania at about 200klm,s out now my bike has the same trouble so I took the bowl of the carb turned on the fuel and played with the floats and plenty of fuel coming through now, I new it was fuel relaited because I turned the fuel to the off possition as soon as it stopped and undid the drain screw on the bowl and bugger all fuel came out.
We then headed back to the bike shop to fit a second hand needle and seat the brass one not alluminium which is what was put into Denis,s bike and his was going ok.
To cut a long story short we drained the tank, took the carb off and blew them clean etc etc, another day lost back to the cabin again tough camping
The next day we decided we would do a rather large loop ride Tilpa , Louth and back to the cabin again .
This is the start of the road to Tilpa.

There is nothing at Tilpa except this pub and the Darling River.
