Handguards

Does anybody know where I can get a set of original DR750 or DR800 handguards from. I was just tightening the nut on the right handguard of the new pair I had got a hold of and while pushing up and turning I tipped the bike over and smashed 2 new mirrors, a new brake lever and the new hand brake guard. They are the same as the ones on Shannon's bike (above). Any help would be great. They don't have to be new or orange. I've given up on that Idea, but a good used pair would be OK and Orange would be even better but If I have to paint them then they'll get painted. If you can help PM me or email me at ausibatla@tadaust.org.au
Cheers.

Question DR750 Top Speed

Hi folks. My friend has just bought a 1988 DR750 BIG, he picks it up in a week. We've got a bet running - Will it do "the ton"? An actual ton, not a ton indicated.
I've bet a box of Waikato it WILL do the ton on a flat sealed, closed private road with my 90kg friend at the helm.

Whadya recon?

Depends......
If it's an orange one then you best go and get your friends box of swamp water now

If it's that one that was on trademe then no, because it ....... just no

My SR41 (750 with 60 K miles) did 102 on my GPS not speedo. It was still slowly accelerating when I ran out of road.

So.....yes...if it's in decent shape

Well I have fitted some different pod filters same brand but with better filtering foam than the ones I installed previous, these allso have a looks like neoprene rubber neck 55mm inside dia, 80mm outside dia, I had to cut one of the filter necks to allow it to overlap 6mm.

I am now running a dunlop road smart rear tyre 150mm wide to give 13mm clearence between the chain and tyre as the pirreli 160mm road pilot was only 6mm clearence and used to rub.
The dunlop now lets the bike drop into corners ever so easy and has made a big difference with laying the bike into corners no effort at all.
