Hello out there,
nice trip Rob! And also very nice to hear about the platypus ... hope they are not endangered, I have to admit I don't know ... We're active in animal health and nature's preservation in our local region. But we do this without tinted glasses of any colour and without trying to prevent people going anywhere. We're sure that people must be allowed to go into nature. Only this will lead them to love it and to care for it ... On the other hand people must be guided, so they don't disturb breeding birds for example, don't ride vehicles on sensitive terrain, don't make to much noise in sensible surroundings and so on. The behaviour of some competitors during this Dakar just isn't right. I can't believe that Peterhansel as a former bike-rider tosses a motorcyclist into the river to keep himself going. I wouldn't have a problem with it if the car gets hit by the stream harder than expected. But it would have been his damned duty to stop when out of the river and help the fellow-competitor out of the situation he had pushed him into! Depres, stuck in the mud, calls an evenly trapped fellow-biker for help and when freed again leaves this one alone in his 'dirty' situation. I'd like to know, if this biker also got a bonus of half an hour or even more (remember, he still was stuck as Depres started rolling again) and if 'Primadonna' Depres had fought for this competitors bonus too as he did for his own. This half of an hour will be crucial for the result of this year's Dakar. Coma, who was the cleverer rider will loose the rallye because of his better navigation and his survey. Compaired to that, the accident of the German car, getting hit by the dutch truck rolling backwards out of a sand-trap was a very tragic but pure race-accident! Concerning turnable mirrors: fellow Stefan 'Rallye-Big' Hessler has so much of them, he even sells them! Look at this: http://www.dr-big-shop.de/shop/produ...roducts_id=212 Kind regards, Bambi

Jetting
Hi everyone,
I got problem with my sr43a. I wanted to replace my ori heavy exhaust on something lighter. I used sport single exhaust and my BIG gots some torque but lost power at high engine speeds... I have ori 130 main jet. Should i replace it sometting bigger or smaller. Hessler told my the stock exhaust have more volume = more flow than the stock = jet smaller What do you think about that??

One would assume if it is breathing better than the stock exaust out the back it would need a tad more fuel in the front, Try 135 mains as Bluesman runs these in his and is happy. |

Hello there,
Dakar result just turned out as I feared: Depres and Peterhansel won on 2 and 4 wheels. Nice to see de Villiers and Zitzewitz in third place with their brandnew pick-up and sad to see Coma in second of bikes. All respect to them!!! For me, they won the rallye!!! Kind regards, Bambi

I didn,t watch much of it this year our coverage from SBS telivision or the show they presented had to many orange coloured flashing pictures and to much showing old events, as you say with the multi million dollar crews the sportman ship is out the door.
Ilost interest early in the event itself when they went to little CC bikes, but do not take anything away from them its just how it is these day,s. I wonder have they ever tried to ride a BIG .
