I've done corsica twice, but not with the DR, with my Buell (paved roads only ... or well, very little "off road" :P)
not the best season as it will be pretty much full of tourists but I hope you'll enjoy your stay :)

Bugger, bugger, bugger. I said I'd post some pics of the Givi set-up, sorry but I am nearly 50.

I'll sort the pics this weekend.

Just checking the bike in preparation for a ride tomorrow.

And for some its stating the obvious, but for some it may be news. If you are having vibration through the handlebars, check the tension on the steering head bearings. It really does make a difference. Would have saved me some messing around if I bothered to do this first! And what a difference it makes.

Regards,

Shane

Hi Rob,

Hadn't ridden it for about three weeks for any decent distance, but did about 400 kms today. Its going really well, thanks.

Here's some pictures of the current setup. The Wolfman saddlebags work well without stand-offs, but with heatguards on the ProDuro. The rear case is an el-cheapo knockoff from Supercheap and the seat bag is a motodry expandable. I've started working on smaller details like painting the footpeg hangars, rear rack etc in epoxy enamel but still have plenty to go with that.

How are you and Fred going?

525 conversion

I've just finished with converting over from 520 to 525.All went well, parts were cheap and easy.Black rear sprocket now.Only minor thing was when fitting the master link,I looked all over for the clip, then assumed it had fallen into the grass.Hands and knees with flashlight til that seemed futile, then back to dealer the next day for another one.Tried to install, chain said 'no thanks'.Looked at the packaging for the chain (somehow looking at the directions to fit a chain seemed like a waste of time)...saw that it was a rivet-type master link chain.A bit of fiddling with a tapered punch in lieu if the fancy DID tool, all appears functional.Test ride shows very small bit lower first gear now.
