Sorry to see you're selling up Lloyd.

I wish there was an easy way to transport the machine across the Pacific.

Low milage machines like yours is a rare find.

Good luck with the sale.

It is getting late in our riding season here in Northern Ontario but this weekend served up a couple of great days. I much prefer the cooler temps and the leaves are starting to change, adding to the scenery. Saturday I logged 540 kilometers, my best day on the BIG since acquiring her in July.

I have a question for those of you with taller wind screens; do they offer much protection and where do you find them?

Happy riding to all,

Relic

Don't know if this will fit your model.

Thanks mate, already looked into that.
Bit of a drama getting the bends right, would prefer to buy said piece & just bolt it on.

Thanks for the link. I'm not sure if this fits the SR41B ???

Anyone else know for sure?

Another option is make your own.
Make a cardboard template, you can make it any height & angle you want.
Then choose either perspex or polycarbonate, heat with a heat gun & bend using a straight edge.

Easier then you think.

the wind shield from rdmoto.cz I have on my big, but this is doesnt much better protection. In addition, at higher speeds behind him turbulences arise, that creates noise in the helmet. I am 180 cm tall

Thank you Radeki! This is good information for me. I was interested to know how much protection I would gain with a taller shield and you have answered my question.
Maybe it is not worth the effort and expense if the result is not much better than original.

Also: very nice looking bike you have.

The best "protective" fairing I've ever seen for the Bigs was produced in Germany but I don't know the name.

It's pictured on Stefans web site here:

http://www.hessler-motorsport.de/drbigshop/

It's the black bike in upper left with yellow lettering. I've seen one or two of these fairings on eBay.de but they are NOT cheap.

Maybe Stefan knows what they are and where (or if) they can still be found.

You loose the beak (not good) but likely gain alot of wind/weather protection.

This was a tall screen from the big shop like Radeki,s bike, I cut about 80mm off the top and trimed the sides in so when on full lock left and right it just misses the bark busters, I only get some wind on the last 100mm of my helmet.
Very happy with the outcome , the standard ones really stand more upright even though shorter do a good job.

Lloyd I will give you you 2k for your bike and you pay cartage .

I made mine and it looks DIY. But it does really work and I can redo it better sometime in the future to look fairly good. I ride up to three hours on a highway through farmland and it saves me from lots of nasties as well as the wind.
