WSDOT maintains the roads in perfect condition, so that travel is easier and safer than most other states, just look at these fine examples:

I feel for you guys all over the PNW, but you got it good, you out to try living in NE Oregon.....its bad.........real bad............

You gotta pack in your "supplies" to the cabin in a back pack

The roads are barely wide enough to pass on

You always feel like you are being watched

You actually have to hike to find things like this

When you get home, there is no where to park

Your guests take it upon themselves to start cooking their dinner and telling tall tales

They leave your kitchen a mess

The bike washes do not do a very good job

Too many dead end streets

And last but not least of my problems............You can only climb to the top, just to look around and go back down again.........life in NE Oregon is bad for sure

It is amazing to see what people can create in Photoshop - because as we all know - this place sucks and that is not real!

So dull

Even the bridges are dull and lifeless (Deception Pass)

You can only look out to the ocean on one side...

and inland from the other side

And the ocean current moves so fast if you fall in, it's all over...

Yeah, WSDOT . . . . .

has the bridges in fine shape, too, like this:

The Wet does have some significance as you see in these pix . . . . . . Yeah it got a little wet around here last winter & spring . . . . . . So we always ride prepared - you outta PNWetters bring your swimming gear and/or survival suits for bridge crossings ! ! !

The detours to go around these little obstacles are not too bad though, say only several miles or so of lovely roads. We just resign ourselves to enjoy the ride.

And they're not too prompt in removing fallen trees from city streets. (10 days in this case).

And we only have Rusty Iron Sculptures:

Or Yellow Submarines:
