I love my top case. I can pack water, lunch, extra gloves, netbook, extra layers of clothing etc....

Cheapy Emgo top case that can hold all of the above or hold a helmet, jacket liner, extra gloves and a sweatshirt if I leave the netbook, water and lunch at home. Pictured below halfway home on a 640 mile day trip.

Pictured below with the Emgo topcase and factory Kawasaki/Givi luggage rack and side cases.

I'm looking forward to heading out for some longer weekend rides this coming spring.

LOL that's exactly what we call them "rocket launchers" short trips we put a foldup chair in each side tube. going for more than a few days we pack clothes in the side tubes and pillows and coffee maker,binos,and small stuff in the center. they have been down the road over 20,000 miles(including the dragon, beartooth,million dollar hiway, cal.1)

Pretty sure those will get you a ticket in CA if a cop actually cared to stop you. I'd be passing you immediately if I found myself in back of those death traps. Just because you can mount something on your hog doesn't mean it's safe or smart. WTF. Get some real luggage. What a joke.

Bolt on or strapped? Do they shift at all when you're riding? I have to confess that I like my side cases because the weight is lower and they aren't going anywhere, even if the bike goes down.

NHBILL hi, they are bolted together on a rack that slides into the reinforced plate on the sissy bar, they have to go straight in then down an inch to lock in. they are held down with two short straps that attach to the nondetachable sissy bar mount.
easy to remove and bring into a tent or motel room. but trust me they won't go anywhere otherwise. and yes, they are way top heavy, but really no worse than a passenger, also i'm tall so have plenty of leverage when stopped, which is the only time the high weight is a problem. I don't mind being called the clampetts' when we travel, but i do object to being called an idiot.

While there is not really a placement on the Top box ugly scale, I am not sure why you would think he would get pulled over or why you think the set-up is unsafe????

By “real luggage” do you mean something similar to half the riders I see out there with a bungee corded mess of a mismatched crap?

While I personally do not find the tube luggage appealing I would NOT be afraid to ride behind such a clean set-up.

I would not be there for long anyway. I’m never there for long.

For origional thinking:

(at least it is "rocket launchers" that comes to mind instead of "Ugly Wart")
