You really need to get a milk crate for that KLR.

You kiddin' me? you know how much milk crates cost?

(About $7/each, but you have to buy at least six. That's like a fortune to a KLR rider...)

Surely you just find a disused one in a skip at the back of a cafe, or beg a scruffy looking worn out one from the local dairy?

Y'know, if you're a KLR rider.

The bag on the Z looks like its a Ventura rack and pack.

When it comes to top boxes i agree that its not the best look on most of the bike, but when your touring who cares about how it looks, its the enjoyment of the trip thats nr1.
When i am home and go for day trips i go for the poser look, but for 2-3 weeks trip practicality is the way to go

Yes, NoVA is Northern Virginia.

Tom-Nor is correct, it's a Ventura rack and a Ventura Mistral 1 bag.

It's secures with two snap-buckles on the bottom.

Thanks for the reply. It looks like a nice bag. Since the girlfriend left, I suddenly find myself with extra money in the "restaurant" budget, which might be put to better use buying something for the bike. I shall have to investigate!!!

Thanks!!!

New top box for my GS:

Used primarily to hold my helmet, it is tough, cheap, and narrow enough to open my side bags.
