well you could talk abt me in my presence and I prolly wouldnt hear half of it...LOL...A fellow XS owner I know very well just bought a Goldwing GL1500 and hasnt the space in NYC to store 2 bikes. Its an 1979 XS1100 in turnkey condition...been restored several yrs ago and is a sweet ride. Was going to go by train but flying is not only faster its cheaper too. Was just going to reserve a flight thru Travelocity to LaGuardia in NYC when my kitty became sick with a fever. So the vet bill threw me a little curve, but the kitty is home and back to normal...Will have to wait until early Nov to set this up. Was planning to ride it back but I may want to rethink the whole travel plan...I really would rather drive to NJ and rent a trailer one way...park the car in NJ and take the train into NYC...pick up bike and ride back to NJ and load it on trailer and drive back...
Oh found out my buddy isnt in the city but out on long Island,duh..so it looks like it would be best to drive straight there...a little further than i thought...if an inmate here comes thru I'll have a trailer to use too...one of those trailer in a bag types...

Thanks to Jersey Biker for his genrosity in loaning me his Trailer in a Bag...so now I'll drive actually to Long island NY east of NYC

While the bike is capable of ridng back...I prefer trailering it so I am more impervious to the fickle weather...this is an open bike and its mission is local tagging and daytrips...anything more like vintage rallies...it gets towed because those venues are always much further away than a normal daytrip...

Plus riding thru that part of NY is crazy anytime of day or night as is the beltline around D.C. which I hope to hit waaay off peak hrs...
meantime i now have means of hauling my broken ST to someone who'll be able to look at it...all this beautiful weather and i havent been able to ride at all...cant wait to get the XS11

Thanks James appreciate the thoughts...I was going to leave for NYC this friday but becaause of Sandy it looks like i wont go until Thanksgiving...so I'll be able to have Thanksgiving with my family and trailer the bike home...The ST is going to my ST buddy in Mebane this weekend

Turkeyday with the family at "home" is always nice Benny. Glad to hear the ST is getting fixed right by someone you trust. That is a real nice bike

Thanks Chad...like the northeast the bike will be a long work in progress...I doubt if I'll see any more miles on her this year...I've ridden almost 19K miles this year and was looking at a PR before the breakdown...
