Speedy I'll ask the House Commander tonight and see what she says. I think it would be great and something different and fun.

Yes, I picked it up after work last night. I was informed that part of the repair process involved the use of material optained from associates at Fort Bragg. The material turned out to be C-4. I was very concerned, not for the safety of the mechanics or the bike, but I was worried that the shop and its contents would have been damaged or completely destroyed if the C-4 had been used. The Maharishi went on to describe how they actually dragged the bike outside before they used the C-4, so no damage occured.

I was also lectured on the potential risks of drinking "energy drinks" like Redbull or Monster before or during any wrenching. The phrase "torque wrench" was used a few times, but I'm not sure, what is "torque wrench"? do you know?

As is always the case, the Maharishi and his most excellent assistant did a first class top quality job.

I was very happy to be able ride to work this morning, and It was a beautiful morning for a ride too.

Anybody interested in a Durham Bulls game ADV group outing sometime? I have unused season tix that I can trade back in and get a whole stack for whatever game we'd like. You are welcome to invite others, significant others, cougars, or whoever- tickets are on me if I just know about how many to plan for. What day would work for everybody? There are games next week (7,8,9th) and then July 24-27, Aug 1-4. post up or PM me if you are interested. Would be pretty cool to have the nice little collection of bikes that was at lunch there. (Or we can booze it up and ride in a cage) These guys are at the park now: http://www.classiccitybrew.com/foothills08.html I'll gauge interest and pick a game.

I'd love to go but am on duty night next week and leaving my staff to run things while I'm off at the ball game sounds like a disaster waiting to happen! And the other two dates I'm off on my ride to Alaska so i am sadly out for this event it looks. Thanks for the offer!

Fish and I are planning to do a ride Sunday. He's off on another ride Fri/Sat and I've got some stuff going on.

If anyone's up for a ride Sunday let me know. ray at teamhokies . com

I'll try to remember to check here as well.

I have to warn you I think Josh's bike has defect that prevents him from going less than 10 over the speed limit :)

We hadn't discussed it, I'm sure we're both open to anywhere. Prefer side roads to interstate but that's about it.

Anywhere you have in mind? We were thinking a morning start and a good day's ride. Maybe a couple of hours ride, then lunch, then a couple of hours ride back?

I'm good with anywhere... I've only been here from Alaska for a year so pretty much anywhere will be new to me.

Speedy as for the Durham game the 24 - 27 works best for me and my wife to give her time to make sure she gets away from work.

Looks like we may not do a ride Sunday after all, some things just popped up that will interfere for me.

On the game, my wife and I both could make it from the 24th through the 27th. Or just I could make it depending on how many tickets you have. Great idea, sounds like a lot of fun.

She gets off work at Duke around 2:30 usually, I can bug out of work early.

It's not a defect, it's a dealer installed option I had them put on the bike before I picked it up. Your bike must have a similar upgrade because it sure seemed quick on 15-501 through Durham on Saturday.....

I've uploaded the pictures from the ride on July 3 & 4 and started writing the ride report. I'll put a link on here when it's done so everyone can check it out.

Josh

I was asleep at the traffic light where you split the lane on green. Looking behind me to check for Barney, turned around and I think you were at about 6,000 RPM and fading into the horizon.

That was a fun 950 miles this weekend, look forward to the trip report.
