kaw 650klr - best for off-road hack ?
I'm seriously considering getting an off-road hack and am interested in using a single cylinder bike.
Is the Kawasaki 650klr the best solution? If I get a 650klr, I want it to be a 2008 because of the changes made this year. There are not any left in California (with the exception of one and I've never been that keen on emotional and/or financial extortion). Although I've checked out a 2008 and it feels really good, I would like any input as to whether it is that good and worth the price. Is the wait for 2009 models worth it? Thanks.

The KLR makes a fun offroad hack. Whether or not it's the best, I dont know. Depends upon your expectations. I guess a used 08 isn't an option for you unless you can find one in Kalifornia? There have been 08s coming up for sale in the classifieds and on Craigslist-you might get lucky.
