Suggestion for Vendor Discount Thread
I see the vendor discount thread is a closed thread (necessary) with only one post containing the list of vendors - which is periodically edited by the mod.
With this method, there's no way for inmates to know what's been changed. I've read through the entire list, and keep a shorter mental list, but who wants to come back and check the post every week to see what's new?
Suggestion: Could the mod for the vendor discount thread simply add a new post to that thread whenever there is an edit?
The update posts might look like this:
Post #2: "Increased discount from 10% to 20% for Vendor 'X'"
Or to save work for the Mod, maybe just a generic:
With this method, inmates could read the list only once, then from time to time come back and skim through only the recent changes.
Maybe there's a logistical reason this method won't work - not sure (e.g., maybe this requires "opening" up a "closed" thread each time there's an edit. Then "closing" the thread again afterwards. And maybe that's problematic?)
Or maybe there's another method I'm not thinking of?
I just thought of subscribing to the thread, but would that even work on a closed thread where no new posts are ever added?

I make very few changes to the Vendors' discount thread and make them very infrequently. Making this task more labor intensive is low on my list of site responsibilities.
