I resiszed my image down to 70x70 and it kept telling me it was too big so i kept shrinking it and reducing the quality until i got my now avatar

that is the only size it would accept. what am i doing wrong here??

i was using photoshop...

and the original was this

I have my picture picked out, but I can't seem to size it small enough. I know, I know...the instructions are on Ask Baldy, but it also says that if i post it here someone will help me out
