When the AARSE commander and chief has a dirt ride I'm going to have to trailer over that way myself.

Good to see more AARSE's coming on board.
I'm off work and able to ride on thursday this week, if anyone else is.
Anyone thinking of going to the camp and ride rally posted here? http://www.advrider.com/forums/showt...=371517&page=4
I'm due a 10 day vacation right around that time, and seriously considering it.

The Redneck Roundup is verrrrrryyyy interstink! I've just got to see how details are here on the home front. If at all, I won't be able to commit until the last minute.
But there are some real light pencil marks on the calender....LOL

What's with all this talk of trailers? Are you boys planning on going up against the Florida Sand Fleas to see who can trailer their bikes the most?

Uhhhhhhhh..... seems I remember someone with a bike loaded either on a trailer, or a truck, don't remember exactly, but it was a freshly acquired LC4....at the October SCRUB.....hmmmmmmmm, Flux. I RODE my ole Ural, in and out.... remember Flux...LOL.... Yup....bad back, bad heart, huffin' a 900lb contraption around down there, chasin' ole JayDee, and all those beemer cats, well not all, I out ran a few in the sandy sections, and I only ran into a pine tree, some folks fell over them..... but I rode in and out....

Ohhhh I luv it! But for a weekend up at Teleco....I'll probably trailer too Flux. I'll make mucho better time, AND be mucho better rested to ride!

J/K bubba.... I know you had to pick up the LC4, enroute!

Welcome urchindog. As soon as I get me a new lid I'll be back on the bike. If it all works out I should have one by this sat. M&MM that ride sounds cool. Also wasnt there a charity DS ride near Atlanta in early october?

Fourth Annual Dream House 500
A Special North Georgia Adventure Touring and Sport Touring Event
Alpharetta, GA Saturday, October 4, 2008
We are pleased to announce the fourth annual Dream House 500, a special adventure touring and sport touring motorcycle event to be held Saturday, October 4, 2008. The AMA sanctioned ride will start and finish at the Honda Rider Education Center in Alpharetta, GA.
Three complimentary meals will be included in the day's activities. A continental breakfast will be served during morning registration. Lunch will be catered on the shore of a beautiful north Georgia lake with live music entertainment. The entree for the hot evening meal on the patio will be your choice of grilled chicken or steak.
After the evening meal, we will award our grand prize, a brand new Yamaha TTR-50E motorcycle.

The sport touring route will be about 500 km (300 miles). The adventure touring route for those who like a little dirt on their tires will be about 400 km (250 miles). The Adventure Tour is shorter to allow time to enjoy a selection of scenic unpaved Forest Service roads in the Chattahoochee National Forest. Each rider will be issued a route sheet with detailed route instructions. These are self-guided tours, but we encourage riders to travel in small groups.

This is not a parade event. This is for riders who like to ride lots of miles of twisty pavement (Sport Tour) or twisty dirt roads (Adventure Tour).
Please join us for a special event for a special cause. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Dream House for Medically Fragile Children, Inc, a non-profit corporation, headquartered in Snellville, GA. http://www.dreamhouseforkids.org/
The founder of the Dream House, Laura Moore, was chosen as ABC News Person of the week in January, 2007.
Watch the video here (after the 30 second commercial) http://abcnews.go.com/Video/playerIndex?id=2774657

The minimum donation requested is $100 per rider and $50 per passenger.
Tell your friends and family that you are raising money to help medically fragile children who have been abandoned by their families. Ask them to sponsor your ride for $5 or $10. You will be surprised at how quickly it adds up to $100 or much more.
Details of the event are here: http://www.dreamhouse500.com
An event flyer with map, schedule and registration form is here: http://www.dreamhouse500.com/registration.pdf
Registration in advance is recommended.

No worries, ya self proclaimed 'old phart', I know you had to really grasp at straws for that one.

Well I WAS going to go with a Shoei or Arai dualsport specific lid....that was until I went back to Aiken MS today. I told them the situation, they looked over the helmet and exchanged it no questions asked. In fact they helped me size it correctly this time and it turns out that the flip face lids did not fit me well at all. I wound up going with a small HJC CL-15. It was about $75 cheaper then the origional lid I bought from them so they gave me the diff on a gift certificate.

That place is top notch in my book. It took all my self control to walk out of there w/o spending that "extra" money I now have. With service like this, I have no problem supporting a local shop instead of using the net to save a few bucks.

So yeah I'm back to riding again.. let me know the time and place.

That DS ride for charity sounds interesting. Anyone plan on doing it?

That is one dealer, I can honestly say, I've never heard anything bad about. And if the deal on the DR had fallen through, you can bet I'd have been at their place, coming home with that DRZ...
