Out side of Aiken there is a power line that goes on for miles toward Augusta but it's all fence in.

"Back in the day...." powerlines all around Augusta were some of the best riding you could find. Stretches miles long outta town....but seems now, every one that I check out is gated and posted. No hunting clubs....just off limits.
Maybe we need to look further out of town, Girard, Sardis, Wrens, Avera, Gibson.... gotta be something out there somewhere...

Well I guess I should stick my head in and say "hello" to everyone. Fireman1000 told me about the group; it will be nice to get some more middle Georgia riders together for rides. Looking forward to riding with some of you!

"Back in the day" ...now your age is showing, ask me how I know.

On this side of Savannah river there is a nice long sandy power line that I jump on from time to time....when the weather is cooler.
The locals kids in that area on ATV and bikes keep it well used and they go around/over any fence that has been put up, so the owners stopped putting up any type of fence.
Now the power line has turned into a trash dump by some and the trash keeps growing. The last time I was there, some one has dropped off a 18' boat.
Another time, as I toped a hill two guys were using the power line as a rifle range, and I WAS NOW DOWN RANGE, not what a solo rider wants to see.

Yeah...those "trash dumpers" have ruined a lot of open land for us all over the years, it's no wonder places get locked down.

But now ya gotta worry about getting shot to! Jumpn' jimminey.... what next...grenade practice!

I was just gonna ask the same thing.
I suggest that we lessen the chance that we may somehow miss each other downtown and meet somewhere in West Augusta and then ride to the taproom together. Anyone want to pick a meeting place and a time?

welcome aboard r acree.......hmmmmmm, Acree.... I went to school with a guy named Acree, Max Acree, back in the late 60's early '70's,, Tubman Jr High, and ARC, any relation? Haven't seen Max since about '71....
