Let's go ride the Ozarks/Mark Twain National Forest around Ava, MO just southeast of Springfield.

Date April 15-19 (Thursday-Monday) I will be leaving Wednesday night after work and get as far as I can. Unsure if I am trailering or riding down (~450 miles).
Will have to take vacation for this one, I have 2 step daughters that live in Springfield as well. Count me out for now until it gets closer to the date.

I may be able to tag along for part of this one. My dad was land near Leadmine, which is about two hours northish of Ava. I could meet you there. Might have a riding buddy then too, if he gets a bike before then.

What's the idea for riding? Gravel, single track, forrest, mud, highway? My TT wouldn't be to happy with me if I was to ride at speed for a long period of time!

I think I will be able to make it... will not know for sure until after the first of the year (have to do the schedule).

How big is trailer? If it is able to carry more, and I am able to go, we can step up the puller with X5 (still need to get a hitch) or highlander. Also I have a roof box so can also stuff more crap up top.

Terrain will be gravel, levelB/Fire roads, some single track I am sure. As limited pavement as possible.

Trailer is a 5x8 Menards special. I have had taken it to Kansas City before with no issues and a few thousand miles total, it's under 2 years old and a good trailer, just not great. 3 600cc singles would be okay I'd think. Then add gear and all and the Vitara would be a slow mover. I might be able to borrow my Dad's 1/2 ton Chebby as well as find a better suited trailer.

Not sure where Ava is but if you swing west you can borrow my trailer. 6x12 aluminum with plywood deck and two wheel chocks on it. Other bikes can fit behind. Tool box on tongue for extras. Took it 500 miles to Eagle River, WI to pick up my bike.

That time sounds like my turkey hunting time thou. But I would love a trip like this.

Newb needs help

When I want to post a pic, I want to post a preview and then if the reader wants to see it they can click it to open up in a new page. How do i do that?

I can post a pic in my post and can post a direct link. I wonder if it is another board I go to for KLR's that has the preview feature.

Also how do I change the settings so when i post a message to a thread it will notify me when other posts have been made? Again other forums do this automatically, it can get annoying but on a thread like this one I can see benefit.

I took the Magna out for a short spin around town in the morning. Uneasiness about the reliability of the bike and running it hard through the 3 first three gears and slowing down just in time to have a cop turn in behind me had me call it an early day

Ok, winter is upon us and for the first time I am getting revved up....
Thinking about how much fun it might be riding the CT70 in the snow with those huge ole tires.
Thoughts?
