I took the KLR out for about half an hour on Sunday while it was still just dusting. Had the windshield off and the grips wired up wrong for the first go around Putting the shield and the grip wire to power instead of ground made the next trip a lot nicer

I too went out Sunday for a short time. No grip heaters on my bikes.

I road my KLR to work everyday last winter (15 miles) with Kenda 270's and NO heated gear. Sadly I only have a street bike at the moment and so no riding for me this winter, if I had a bike for it I certainly would. Its actually a lot of fun (as long as its not really windy). I do have full Fieldsheer winter gear, just not heated.



There is a guy at the hospital with studs on his DRZ400 that rode this morning, but he only lives maybe 2 miles from work. Still you have to admire his dedication. He is an Anesthesiologist so its not like he doesn't have money for a car either.

I'd *maybe* think about riding in in the cold and snow but I'm more worried about getting plowed into at a stop sign or a red light. After I got everything sorted out yesterday I wasn't too uncomfortable, but I think there would have been some slippery moments, especially if I'd had to ride home last night!!

Dual Sport Trip - April 15-19 (Thursday-Monday) 2010 Greenville, MO



Greenville, MO is 400 miles from us. It's on the north side of part of Mark Twin National Forest. I'd have to get more detailed to find a campground, but that will not vary the distance by too much. It's rural as shit so there has to be riding galore and Poplar Bluff is south and I think a decent sized city with all we'd need.

Just southeast of Greenville is Lake Wappapelllo State Park if we think we can stay in a state facility without getting kicked out.

I use to go to the Trail of Tears Rally, west of Marble Hill, MO Every spring. It’s a good ride to get back in shape for summer. It was the second or third weekend of April at Castor River Park Campground. 15 mi. west of Marble Hill MO, then 1⁄2 mi. south of 34 on Rt.

I think that the owners of the campground just kind of put it on now. It's like a tent and beer - kind of, you might get flooded, or hit with a tornado rally.

Very fun riding in this part of MO.

Nope - its 50% illegal and 50% Level-B roads (unserviced roads). So 50% or less of the fun out there are trails (per-say).

We got it out - I will post a link to the video when I get it on youtube. Ford Deisel with 44in MT's on it, after we dug, jacked, and laid down 400lb of rock out there.

I ordered a winch/bumper and some rock sliders last week but they will not be here for 4 more weeks (custom made).

There is a natural spring that runs through there just barely under the ground and when we went across it became quick sand and within 10sec I had both the axles on the ground. When we were digging the wheels out it just filling up with water.

Miraculously I didn't break anything and only scratched my front right wheel slightly.
