Speaking of that,

I lost over $300 bucks when they yanked the title to my 1st KTM.

It's because I not only paid the tax when I bought the bike at the dealer, the stupid broad at the county court house charged it to me again. So instead of fighting it in the hopes of getting the title, (yes this was before they yanked it) I paid it.

When they yanked it I went back to said broad and she said she saw her mistake and will get my money back.

That was 8 years ago. No cash!

Iowa is the most stupid place on earth. Especially Hardin county!!

MITRA Dual Sport Ride Last Sunday

Thankfully, the rain stopped at the same time as our departure around 10
a.m.

The fall foliage was vibrant during sections of the ride, especially upon
entering the Stephens Forest area.

The group encountered a deceptively muddy stretch within the first five
miles.

Here's some video of the ride.

Okay you guys and the title issues are making me a little nervous. I have an xr600 which was titled about 12 years ago in Colorado. Easy at the time and all dirt. When I moved to iowa I went down to the county court house in Dbq took my info and they gave me plates no questions asked and no late fees. I have since renewed every year and had no problems.

If someone knocks on my door asking for my plates..... I think I will kindly inform them to go fxxk themselves and to get off my property.

I love my bikes.

I actually have a plated Yamaha 175 Trials bike. Back in the old days , I was a State inspector so I “inspected my 175 and plated it.” I’ve been told if I ever sell it the plates will be yanked.

Don't worry about your 600.

That's how most dirt bikes get titles and licensed in Iowa. Come from out of state titled and licensed.

When brought to Iowa no questions asked.

Just like a guy I know and his plated Honda CRF 450X. :)

you just have to know the right people at the hardin court house... or in the sheriff/trooper car... i still know plenty of them, but no need to go that route for a few years now.

I have been looking to trade off my XR650R but had no bites...I'm thinking it's time to AZ plate it through a friend of mine and get back to some back road riding...can't do the extreme off-roading anymore but I'm thinking I could do gravel and B level roads...take some motrine, throw a leg over and go...
