All,

This site is amazing! I'm so glad that I stumbled on it the other night. I'm a recently converted cruiser rider who has found his imagination in adventure riding. I've done some trolling on this thread and I'd like to know if someone could invite me to some more technical riding this spring/summer? I can do all of the reading and video watching in the world but until I get dirty and make mistakes I'll never be as good as I can be.

If anyone has any quick trips planned or advise to deliver on where to go, I would sincerely appreciate it.

We should also plan another get-together sometime. The gathering we had in Ames last year was fun and gave me a chance to ride up the Des Moines River roads before the meet-up. That was fun.

Does that swinging ride really have anything
challenging in it? I have looked at there pictures and never really noticed anything gnarly. I would like to go but I have been to all the swinging bridges already and don’t want to go just ride dusty gravel roads.
I would like to get a group to go to the Chadwick area some time,[not necessarily in the park] looks like some good challenging roads near there. We have been on a couple of them.

I have been to Bluff lots of times but it is not open to your BMW unless you get it registered. I don't have any of my licensed bikes regestered.

The 690 is such a cool bike. I rode with a guy here in Des Moines down some trails along the river. He was on a 690 and I was on my 950. My 950 is SUCH a pig in the woods, but his 690 just zipped around like it was nothing at all.

Doug at Moto Sports bought it when the prior owner moved and has thus far refused to part with it. Up to this point my dream bike has been my 950. I doubt I'll ever sell it, but if the KTM Basel Defy 690 ever came to the states at a reasonable price, I'd definitely consider it:

I never thought to ask who's 690 that was, does Doug ever ride it? She's a beauty for sure!
