Looks like a great trip

You need to buy my bike lift, with the amount of work you do on the KTM! ;-)

Needs vs. wants, man.

I just now realized that the "wazzup" post was likely intended specifically for someone other than me .

my statement still stands.

Man, if my KTM ever needs a "street" stable mate, this would be it. It's the Roland Sands Designs BMW Ninety concept:

My Sump pump has been running non-stop for the last 48 hrs or so. It's holding it's own, but not gaining ground. I really don't want to watch my basement flood!

Mow-ree and I managed to slip and slide around Bluff Creek on our bikes Sunday since it wasn't raining. But, the conditions ranged from muddy to really muddy.

I ended up getting stuck in a 30' deep bowl with no way out. The routes out were steep and I would have been able to climb out of them easily enough, except the whole bottom was a soupy mess. SO, by the time I actually got to the steep part, my tires were a smooth clay/mud mess. I finally found a way out after several tries. I also found out that kick starting a 620 after the bike has been upside down for a few minutes can be a bit challenging. That thing just about killed me.

Assuming my computer at home is still above water, the video should be uploading to Youtube. I'll post it up when I get home.

Only managed a 50 mile ride on the Tenere to Madrid and back Monday evening. Hit a few gravel roads and they were actually in good shape, only a few soft spots. Rest of the weekend was a wash out.

Really frustrating since I have a new toy I am dying to ride, 2013 KTM 350 XC-F

Like I said, Bluff Creek was a mess. I didn't even bother with the footage of the real sloppy stuff - it just shows me going really slow through the mud.

What this video does show is a few increasingly difficult hill climbs, then, at the 1:40 mark, I go down a steep embankment into a bowl - because I want to try another longer steeper hill climb. Unfortunately the whole bottom of the bowl is soupy mud and clay and I can't get any kind of momentum going at the hill. I make it so very close to the top before the front end comes up. I chop the throttle so I don't go over backward. The bike kills and I slide down the hill. So, I try a different way out, kill it and back down the hill. I try the first way out again, but the front end washes out and I drop the bike and slide back down.

What the video doesn't show is the 17 hours of me stomping the kickstarter after laying the bike down. I'm not sure why it's so hard to start after being upside down, but that about killed me!

Next time I go to Bluff Creek, it's gonna be dry!
