Yup. I put in a new water pump shaft and seal this winter thinking that was the problem. The old shaft and seal were bad, but that didn't resolve the oil leaking into the radiator. So, it's a head issue for sure. No worries though. Doug at MotoSports is working on it as we speak.

At least the motor is in good hands:

And, althought I'm not riding, they did give me Valium for pulling my back out when I tried to lift it into the back of my Xterra.

Bring it over. I'm a pro at that now. Although the heating up the outer case in the wife's new oven to get the bearing out is a bit of a touchy subject around here. And then there's the Valium issue.

While you guys are rebuilding
I went riding all day
First up was R,J Cycle open house
All the food was gone when we got there
Big crowd
Victory demo rides
Then we hit the road over to Lake Rathbun

Kent and Shawna just picked up that Beemer today.

Then on the way home we stopped at Lake Wapello.
Great day to be ridding.

Went and got some good looks at different flooded rivers, here a few shots of them. First one is in Colfax, second is the Cedar at Palisades Keplar State Park and the third is the Iowa around Amanas.

Had a great ride with the family yesterday.
Ended up down in MO.ngolia looking for old through truss bridges.
group shot.

They ride H.D.s so it was hard surfaced roads only.

Finally found one.

Will take you up on that if I can get some free time... heck I will bring some extra Valium for you.

Well, the motor is apart. We can't find signs of a head gasket leak, but it clearly had one. Bigger problem is the cams are crapped out - severe pitting on the lobes. It looks like a manufacturing defect. But, the 990 SuperDuke cams will fit in those heads, and they have way more lift. Should be a fun ride when it's done!

How long will it be before you're riding again?

Who knows. I ordered a wrench from KTM months ago, and I think they are still mining the iron ore to make it. Hopefully it won't take long. The only concern is if the cams are in stock. It was hilarious. Doug and I sat at the computer and looked up pricing on cams. The stock front exhaust cam for the 950 engine was $454 and change, but the stock 990 "R" cam was $138 and change. WTF! It was an easy call to go for the newer cams.

I think I need to make up some new "950 R" decals now.

Wow!!!!! That makes sense in some way, l guess. Hopefully they won't have to mine the iron ore for the cams as well. LOL!!!

Just think Brad...with the extra power on tap, you might even be able to keep the big Duc in sight! ;-)
