I hit up a bunch of roads like that in my Jeep when I was testing 911. Logging roads, Lost Creek Road, etc. A lot of them in the "Ozark Mountain Scenic Waterways" area.

Side note, been dissecting the Iowa, Missouri and Illinois DOT maps for fun and entertaining routes from WDSM to Springfield, IL...so far, I have a giddy ass route picked out. Doing the last minute prep on the bike tonight and tomorrow night. Hoping to have a fun trip and a buddy with a Diavel is tagging along so it will be all pavement.

I did the Baxter Cycle event today:

Nice folks. If they take about 100 lbs. of weight off the top of the Tiger, I'd be somewhat interested. Until then, I'm happy with the old Orangecicle.

If you need a place to setup a free campsite along the North Shore highway or a workshop to work on your bike, let me know. I'm the guy flying the Hawkeyes flag up here in Gopher territory!

Also, does anyone know if the Sutliff bar/bridge ever opened back up to foot traffic? We use to ride from Iowa City to Sutliff on lunch runs, but I haven't been back since the big flood. I'm curious if that place is still open. A true rideside gem!

The bar is open, and popular as ever with the HD crowd (my parents live just off Sutliff Road in Lisbon). They had been working on the bridge, but I'm not sure if you can go out on it again.

They also opened up a patio area, where they'll have music etc once in while.

didn't see any of YFF's At Baxter Cycle on Sunday, although there were quite a few people. 4 guys from work left M-town at 6:45 so we could get our pick of bikes, and I still didn't get to ride the Trophy .

First I demo-rode the Street Triple R. It was ok. I'm sure I was lugging the engine really bad, since I'm used to my Buell and Sporster, which red line at about half of what the ST does (13,500) . It was a nice bike, but didn't really click for me.

Then, I demoed the Tiger Explorer. Very similar to the Ulysses, except smoother and with electronic cruise control . It also would like to rev higher. Definitely a candidate for replacement if the Uly gets totalled.

I did see two Cagiva Gran Canyons parked by the Bike show and wondered if those belonged to inmates.

I took a bunch of pictures, but the image hosting sites i normally use are not working so good right now.
