As I sit here at my desk, looking out on a dreary and drizzly day, I can't help but think to myself that I would much rather be out there riding in the rain than sitting at a desk.

Obviously, I can't do that as my bike is still in 60938456 pieces. But the frustration lies more so in the means (or lack thereof) than the method.

Oh well...suppose I can live vicariously through other riders on this, the most boring of days.

I just washed one of my bikes out in the rain to put it away for the season. Usually that produces a few 50-degree days in early December.

Thumbs down

Washed my bike last Sunday knowing that it's probably over for riding for this year. Maybe it will be nice over turkey day weekend!!!

Noooooo. I was at MotoSports on Saturday. I can confirm that your bike is mostly together. It's your crankshaft that is in 60,938,456 pieces. Actually, the engine looked really great considering.

Who in the world would polish rods in an engine??? Ducati, that's who. Beautiful inside and out.

Looks like I'll be riding home in the rain today. That's about the only way my bikes get washed.

Last Thursday I rode up to Figgins in Riverside then up to Gina's
All in the rain, had a great ride.
That Yamaha shop in Iowa city might as well close there doors, they won't even talk to me when I go in there.

I had the same experience there a couple weeks ago. Walked in, looked around for 5 minutes, 4 people working, not even a hello from any of them.

i took my feejer there to have tires put on and a bit of work done. they did put the tires on, but they didn't do the clutch work they told me they would do. they left me on the last bar of the fuel gauge then the bike died on the way home ( a battery cable was somehow crazy loose). probably just a coincidence, but i was plenty pissed off.

the first step in pretty much anything you do, if you are following the service manual, is disconnect the battery.

Springs will change that once they show up. Still pitching around the idea of doing the LeoVince crossover pipe to eliminate the udder.

Doug mentioned he may have a buyer for the 350EXC that was thinking of trading in an immaculate DR650 for it...if that happens, I will snatch up the DR. Just can't pass it up for about 1/4 the price of the 500EXC.
