Has anybody in Iowa been out riding yet? The other week when it was 50 degrees, I saw two riders on dual purpose bikes in Waterloo. One had a GS, and the other had a KLR. I was jealous, because my bikes are still stuck behind my very long driveway of ice on my acreage!
I was on the GS with touratech luggage!

There is too much sand at Waterloo, last summer the whole place flooded. Sand is what is left over.
Been to Bluff Creek many times... I take the ATVs down there. I did that gravity cavity jump once...and only once. Sand isn't bad for riding...since I'm trying to get ready for my AZ ride.

Another one from Des Moines here, but I doubt my Katana would keep up with you guys on the gravel.

It didn't do so bad in that snowstorm we had on the 13th though. The day I bought it in Boone and rode it back to Grimes...

Just go to your local county recorders office at your county courthouse. Take along your VIN number (either your registration or title will do) you will need that for the nice lady to register your bike.

You have to have that stuff for the first time you register your bike, after that, you can go to any business that sells hunting licenses and get it re-registered.

It's only $16.00!

It looks like I can get a non-resident permit for $16.25 per year, I think I can get that at the hardware store in town too

Save your money, if you can fit on the F800GS go with that!

Does it count if I'm originally from Iowa? I was born and raised in Iowa Falls and lived in Ames, Iowa City, and Sioux City. Left in '01 to follow the elusive paycheck.

Reachin' out to my Iowan Brothers and Sisters!

Never heard of the Vrinks.

Maybe your spelling is incorrect. Do/did they own a business?

Another Dubuquer here.

Haven't seen many bikes out lately. Just Jennaliegh on her Metro 50 all winter long. She complained it stalls at sub zero, but insists there is no need for a car.

Anyway, I am the guy on the red Versys with top box. Maybe we need a DBQ meet and greet? Seems like alot of people on here I don't see around town.

I am originally from Iowa Falls. My name's Mike Walters. Graduated 1985 from IFHS and I still have family there.

As far as the Vrink's, I believe their family name is Verink, and there are a still a few in Iowa Falls.

And my nick name "CyHawk" is because I went to both ISU and U of I so I'm a bit conflicted. :)
