We have a small group from the Broward area talking about going the same weekend, mostly big bikes. Where are you guys planning on staying? It would be cool if we could meet up. And can you recommend anything for GS size bikes?

Theres plenty of places to camp in ONF, some free areas like big scrub. Or just camp out in the woods.

Big bikes aren't too bad if you keep to the main forest roads.

Sorry, been trying to get with the others to see where eveyone wants to camp, but nobody can make up their mind as usual. I haven't been there in a while, and am hearing that the loop is in pretty shitty shape, but there is a lot of riding out there to be done. I can't really comment on the big bikes, I've never taken one out there, but have seen A LOT of them out there. I will be trailering a couple bikes up, so will need to camp where I can keep my truck, other than that I am game to camp anywhere that I can ride from.

I will be hauling up to, preferably to the Deland side. Never ridden off road in ONF.

I persuaded the wife to let me buy "us" camping gear so I'm for sure down for the weekend of Feb. 20.

Be careful out there. My friend had a head on collision about a week ago.

Don't know where you guys are thinking but there are three nice campgrounds pretty close to Salt Springs. One's at the east end of Hopkins Prairie, one on the north side of Lake Delancy, and another just south of Salt Springs off 19 (FR 33). They don't have full facilities, just concrete outhouses. Good riding around all of them. The full facility campgrounds are at Salt Springs, Rodman Dam, Juniper Springs, and I think Alexander Springs has a few campsites (no RV's).

I personally don't care for running water. Just an outhouse is fine by me. Running water is just a plus.

Ktownguy, you are more than welcome to come. I would rather stay in one of the primitive spots, we will have the dogs with us. But if it's better for some of you who are bringing families then we can do whatever.
