![]() Hard to tell from the photo. How much further does the pipe-side bag stick out due to the offset?

I rode plenty of easy dirt roads last weekend on the 650, and I'm liking how it handles in the dirt but can't wait to get the knobbies on next week.

What crash bars are you running, Navaho? I may have to visit my sister in Baton Rouge next summer and meet up with you and HTC for an Abida!

The screen is the BMW Tinted screen - that's all. Nice, but small and standard.

HOW TO MAKE YOUR WOMAN HAPPY a four-step guide This is an absolutely brilliant bike, btw. I picked it up yesterday at Morton's BMW in Fredericksburg, VA and rode it 50 miles back home for the big surprise. Even though I was keeping it below 4k rpms for the break in and riding the whole way on the 95 (I had to get back quickly before my cover story wore thin!), I had a stupid grin on my face the whole time. The motor just purrrrrs along. The shifting is ... um ... smoother than my 1150? OK, that doesn't say much, but it's really, really smooth. Nice pep, GREAT sound coming out of the pipes, and my oh my oh my is it a gorgeous shade of red. My fiancee (Violagal around these parts) was QUITE pleased. She's upgrading from an F650 classic (aka a "Funduro"). Great bike, but she was ready to move on. Too bad the weather stinks this weekend, but I suspect we'll be out there anyhow! Oooh, OK, one more pic. The caption for this is "ooooh, electronics!" ![]() The amount of gadgetry on this bike is crazy! (In stark contrast to her carbureted and very, very analog Funduro!) It puts on a pretty impressive light show when you turn the key. |

Howdy, Nate!
![]() Looks like you're getting a new one too! Very cool. That beautiful bumblebee paint job is gonna get reaaaaally muddy up there! Life's never been better. I've got a decent job and a wonderful woman with a new bike. What more could I ask for? (Awww yeah ... should be arriving from New Mexico in in about two weeks. It was between that and the F800GS, but the test ride did me in. )
