Yea, that was funny. I'm really getting the itch to host another camp-n-ride. The parks don't open until the third Friday of April though. If the weather gets really nice, I could actually host it at my house. The loop trails are only about a 15-20 minute ride over to the loop from my house. You have to pass both casinos on the way.

I also have some other areas to ride that are fun on a dualsport, not to mention all the windy back roads in the area that are scenic and fun to ride.

We'll see. I'd certainly prefer to be in the park, but I'm not ruling out having a bunch of inmates over for the weekend.

Wanna ride like the pros:

Sunday, April 29
Meriden MC and Pathfinders MC are co-sponsoring a one-day school for all
who'd like to learn about Brand-X timekeeping and get into enduros.

The basic format of the day is this:

- Attend a short classroom session (60-90 minutes) where we'll talk about
basic bike set-up and teach you about timekeeping through a few real-world
examples.

- Time to get suited up and go through a tech inspection (sound test
only...street plate not needed for this event)

- Ride a mock enduro on the Meriden Jr. Enduro course. The course will
include all the major elements of an enduro: different check types, resets,
speed changes. We will have instructors stationed at key points on the
course to help you and answer questions.

You'll need:

- NETRA membership (available day of class)

- A quiet bike (able to pass NETRA sound test)

- A route sheet holder

- A digital timepiece with seconds

- An odometer (not 100% needed but very helpful)

You should also bring:

- Scissors

- Scotch tape

- Duct tape

- highlighter, pen.

PRE-ENTRY ONLY

I sent in my entry form and check yesterday.

At first, I thought that I could teach myself the timekeeping. Then I figured that it would be easier to learn from the experienced guys, not to mention it will certainly be a fun day of riding in a new place. Overall, well worth the money. I'm really looking forward to the event.

That's cool. This will be helpful in understanding some of the finer points of timekeeping. The Snow Run didn't involve any time keeping really. Being early to a check is painful, as far as scoring goes.

3+5 sure but what about 27 + 48? That's got to be worth at least $45.

I was considering signing up too...just to understand what happens at the different checks, when I can stop to take a piss, and to ride in someone else's backyard for the day. It would be a good chance to meet up with other enduro n00b's in the area. If you rode the Snow Run and still have your timesheet, they'll give you $5 back the day of the class if you bring it.

I like that idea better than a certain someone's suggestion of strapping on a freshette a while back.

If I didn't know better I'd think he was implying I am, or have, a vagina.
