I put together a Youtube video of some of the roads around Conway and Ashfield to give people a sense of what the trail is like. Very big bike friendly.

Geez Bob, It's been a long time!! How are you? You must be dual sporting with the rest of the old ST.N crowd.

Just a few pix of the TMT N2S. When I missed a turn, a black bear crossed the road when the video was on.

Great thread
First off, thanks for putting this together, I spent most of yesterday morn reading through the whole thing. I plan on doing the ride either this weekend or next with a buddy. I'll be on my dr350 hoping to find some more challenging dirt along the way, is there good trails/jeep trails to take little side adventures on? I'm looking on google earth and some areas seem promising but if people advise there isnt much I may stick to my vstrom.
Thanks and hope to see you out there.

Would Hulked & the collective consider this as an alternate start? If so I'm gonna ask madrivermaz to do his google map route sheeting so I don't have to go back down to take the mileages (I'm an old Route Sheet guy).
START at Corps. of Engineers Boat Launch on Rte 8. There are toilets and a large parking lot for trailers there. 0.0 R Tar (Rte 8) 0.1 L Tar b/c DR (Beech Hill) ?.? R Tar (Beech Hill) ?.? L Tar (I forget the name) ?.? (Keep L past McClaveville) ?.? R Tar will b/c DR (Prock Hill) (Cross State Line on Prock Hill) ?.? S Tar (Sandis-New Hartford) ?.? R DR (Fox) Rejoins Existing Route This gets you onto dirt sooner (1st 1/4 mile) plus off State roads more; not that Rte. 183 is a bad thing. Older maps (DeLorme) don't show that Prock Hill Rd. goes all the way through over the border as a dirt road. Or you can take the existing route and then from Rte. 183 go R Tar (Wolfords Hill) L Tar b/c DR (Prock Hill)

But I am not going to try to describe them. Go exploring, or ride the V-Strom on the existing route.

I just picked up a used KTM 950 from another ADV member in NY, and hit the trans mass (easy part) on the way back. To make the battery last the whole time I set my GoPro to just take pictures every 15 or 20 seconds, then threw them together in a movie when I got home. I haven't edited anything, just added a little music. This should show 90% of the route marked by the .gpx file on page 1 (I missed the first few miles on the north side) and a touch of Vermont that is not part of the trail.

TMT Ride
Planning to ride the TMT and PDR this weekend (8/11-8/12) with another inmate.
Looks like there may be some rain, but thats what makes it interesting .I hope to do a ride report in Day Trippin' This thread has been great to help plan the trip, and confirm that it is big bike friendly. ![]() Keep it going!
