Of course in the next 9 months one of you ambassador's of the great state of Massachusetts, home of famous patriots like John Adams, Samuel Adams, Clara Barton, F.Lee Baily and so on...........might, in the name of hospitality and tourism, take a chain saw on River Rd and clear the way for weary travelers.

I'm surprised nobody did it already. Around my (rural) neighborhood stuff like that gets cleared by resdients.

some guys from the Berkshire Trail Riders will be going out soon to start setting the route for our upcoming Berkshire Big Adventure, which is a 2 day event this year. We will be starting in our trucks and always have a saw in the back. If we are anywhere near there, I will be sure we give it the old heave ho.

The BBA was started about 10 years ago by Viverid.

I love that place!

This is another great old place to stop in at..

http://elmersstore.com/

it doesn't look like much in my photo but but the food was good and they made space for an unexpected group of around 10 dirty riders. The menus are a fun read too. I think we had a mix of lunch / breakfast items when we stopped there and everyone had good reviews of their food, price and service..

do you have mapsource or basecamp?

you may need them to load to your zumo... not sure. I *think* there's a way to stick a gpx straight on the gps and then load it, but I don't know that method (I use mapsource)

Ok, please tell us exactly what you are doing.

Here is what is supposed to and does happen on my iMac running 10.8.2 -

I open Safari and navigate to the Trans-Mass Trail thread.

I click on the link and I get a stupidly ridiculous animation of the file flying from my browser window to the download folder in my doc.

I open my download folder and sure-enuff TMTv2.gpx is there.

If I am foolish enuff to click on it it opens as an XML file in XCode.

So ... Don't click on it!

Instead open BaseCamp.

Then do a File:Import and it will come into BaseCamp in a folder entitled "Recently imported from TMTv2.gpx"
