Me, Twigsnapper, and Toaliosis are going to be riding in that area tomorrow, but not sure if were going to tag it or not. Take your chances.

Just got in from vacation at midnite and saw this sitting. After driving a cage 1800 miles in Italy the last 2 weeks - amongst all kinds of bikes - couldn't resist a ride !

Meta Schmeta - maintained gravel roads

Commandment #3 - Tag must be a) findable and b) not placed on a dirt road. Maintained gravel is OK, but make sure to let folks know that gravel is required to get to your tag. We don't want to exclude those who don't like to get dirty.

How are we defining "maintained"? PennDOT and the DCNR seem to use different definitions, with some of the State Forest roads being little more than double track with baby heads for aggregate.

The last time I had the tag I really wanted to stick it out in the middle of a State Forest. My reasoning being if I can get my pig out there, there's no excuse for the rest of you. But I didn't want to step on anyone's toes.

Super sleuthing job
I was worried I'd get the usual "not enough clues", "deliberate attempt to keep it local" etc etc that I get from the usual suspects - you know who you are .
Thank You!

The double track with baby heads roads are actually designated as driveable trails and are not maintained. While I have no problems with roads like that for riding, I would prefer to keep the tags off of them. Yeah, I know this is ADVrider, but not all adventures require getting dirty.

The MD TOR just had a little issue regarding this subject. I agree with Skyclad on this tag remaining an all rider inclusive tag. If there is interest in a dirt road / trail tag my suggestion is to punch a few keys and start a tag. There is one in the northern counties of PA already.

Just my two cents.
