Need help with dakar fuel capacity

Hi outhere I just changed the 1100 gs for a 650 Dakar but not really happy with the small gastank. I'm afraid I'll be even unhappyer on the Mongolian steppes next year if I cant fix it.
Is anybody has a solution for this problem other than touratech tanks what is only a little bit cheaper than it's own wait in gold?
Thanx

you can always keep with you some extra fuel cans... it's a lot cheaper than the TT tank and if you buy enough of them you get the same mileage out of it.

but i think that even with a smaller tank, the dakar is going further than the 1100.

I was going to say, but got 205'd. Your Dakar should have a longer range than your 1100 did. One of my riding buddies has a Dakar and I'm always looking for gas well before he is. If you need mor range, get a couple of small fuel bottles or Rotopax.

I easily get 200 miles before the low fuel light comes on. Plenty of options for external tanks. Not sure about the quality of fuel where you are going, but I get 65-70 mpg US. 2007 F650 Dakar stock exhaust and air filter.
The collapsible fuel bladders are a neat option, dump the fuel in and roll the bladder up till next fill up.
