nice grab Klaus-so wish I could leave the house! I guess my newbie status of 2 days is done! welcome to the game!
its weird to see such a low odometer- I used to be on ADVrider in 2003 but I let it lapse and thus I am back to the beginning- in fact I did an incredible trip across Maine in the dirt that was organized through ADVrider.
Anyway have fun to you all that can go riding!!!! I am jealous!

Maine is always great, did a trip up there 2 weeks ago, all the way to the border. So many tags so little time.

Klaus, WELCOME!!!!!!!!!! Great tag, and doc, NICE grab. Warning you all, I've been silent for a few weeks while saving up gas money. Coming back with a vengeance soon!! Two weeks and I leave for Gulf Coast Tour of oil if anyone wants to "tag" along. Three week ride, fix the oil leak, and back. I'm thinking a giant tampon should solve it.....

Thanks! Klaus' clues were pretty good....

"Think John Wayne & expensive cars........."

John Wayne=Duke (the Duke Estate in Manville)
Expensive cars=Rolls Royce (Roycefield road)

One of my favorite connector roads between River Road and the back way past Manville. A little tricky, since there are at least three similar watering spots for horses around the estate.

New tag up soon....

A Clue....

I have been fascinated with running water in homes for years. We tend to take it for granted in this country, but it is not an easy thing to have fresh running water under pressure in homes and apartments.

For instance, this house in Vermont was built in 1789. It had running water under pressure because the farmer was smart enough to build a spring house 1/4 mile up the hill in the background.

That's why I've always been fascinated with water towers!

too much information, Doc..
to be fair, I'll limit my bike to Rain Mode (reduce the power to 150 hp) and give stbob a chance

I figured the locals would know it, so I wanted to give a few others a shot at it. Pretty cool tower, don'tcha think? Neat story about the architect as well.

I never knew it was there.. Many uses too! a water tower, warning marker, and recently "world's largest bird cage"

I just checked out the tower that inspired this structure (learned some Italian while I was there - Spero che abbiate una buona giornata )
..nice tag, doc and it will be interesting to see if you can successfully smoke the locals out and get involved in the game again

another clue....

Since the locals are leaving it alone, I'll give another clue:

The tower was once called "the most important structure of its kind in the country."
