Our next tag is another ford. This one is a bit more dangerous to perform on a non-dual sport, but I've seen it done with street bike tires. In fact, my pictures above were actually here - just noticed that. BTW - when I went thru, after a couple days of heavy rain, my jugs and bags were submerged - and the current was pretty strong!
The road this ford is on is named after the business a 23 year old started in 1858. It was closed down in 1919 as part of the Noble Experiment, and then was burnt to the ground about 35 years ago by a bunch of zealots. Their Maryland Rye was supposed to have the smoothness of an aged whiskey while being freshly distilled. ![]() PS: Stay left. BIG hole on the right. |

Dude, thats a great fjord. Maybe 5 years ago I led a BMW GS ride (from the Square Root Rally) through there. There was one guy who had never been off pavement, that wasn't too keen to try it. We all sort of talked him into giving it a try.
And that of course was terrible advice, since it had been raining and it was pretty deep. The guy off to the side and crashed out. It took four of us to get that bike out. Its definently doable on street tires, but yes can be deep when its been raining. I wish I wasn't working this weekend, else a couple of us could meet up for a group tag and ride. |

![]() Here I am going through it last year. That's me passing through the deep end cause I wanted to avoid the sand on the shallows. Nice wake when I first hit. |

The scientists this house belonged to was born in 1731.
He published an Almanac under his name (1792-1797) and it was a top seller in surrounding states. Another well known fact about this scientist is that in 1753 he borrowed a pocket watch from a neighbor; took it apart and made a drawing of each component, then reassembled the watch and returned it, fully functioning, to its owner. Find his estate - find the tag.

tag-o-rama virgins, always poppin off with the pics and forgetting the rules![]() If you go to play in the ford (or any of the dirt/gravel locations we've posted on this thread), please do not race through them. The locals have been good people. Stopped and talked to one over the winter when I placed the tag there for D.A.M.N. I expect nothing less but good stories amongst the locals about us motorcyclist coming through on any cool roads we post on here.
