Seems like he was going a bit quicker than it looks from that first shot.

I was surprised to read on your MCN link the bike could be written off ... until I saw the pics of it going end for end through the bushes

Ouch indeed.

Note the crash bungs!

Obviously expecting a mishap! Not sure they helped much though Hope the guy was OK?

Very unfortunate and I guess anyone is vulnerable especially when pressing on, which this bike encourages - it's way beyond the normal level of performance you'd expect for this type of bike.

Anyway, hope I can keep mine shiny - fingers crossed, touch wood, etc, etc......

Your bike looks great. I just removed all those crappy aluminum bash plates and the bike looks so much better. I will never go off road so its really not an issue for me. I'll try to post some pics soon.l

I might paint mine either Black or Red - bit too much silver down there!

got a test ride on the standard model

Did about 10 km on a standard with ABS. I really wanted a DES model to try, but I was lucky to get this ride. I haven't ridden a modern ducati since the 916 so I didn't know what to expect and I was surprised to be instantly reminded of my Cagiva Elefant - which is a good thing! I found the MS reasonably comfortable, except for the wrist angle of the bars - and of course the fairing screen didn't work any better that the Uly screen which is disappointing. But those are all things I can fix. The best part was the mode switch - finally we can get some value from fuel injection. Overall, I was impressed, and want another ride. How it performs on the dirt will be a deciding factor - but so far I'd rather ride the MS than the GS..
