I just got a 2011 MTS 1200. Used, what a surprise! (story is the guy's wife came home, saw the bike and said "it's me or the bike" I'd keep the bike) Although only 800km, but it did save a couple of thou. Love this bike.

Is there a thread that discusses accessories and frackles for the bike? I'll probably get the vario screen, had it on my last bike and liked it.
  • I do need a tail bag, don't want the top box. Any suggestions?
  • what about a tank bag, I'd like a small one with a map holder. I'm used to magnets, what do you do with plastic?
  • What about engine guards, radiator guard etc etc. The whole bike looks just too delicate to drop, so who do we kid about off roading this baby?
  • Anything else anyone put on they liked?
thanks

I have just posted some pics on the bag connection on the new Multi picture thread. It comes with an optional map holder.Just clicks into place off the tank and can be easily removed to carry around off the bike.

I have posted a link to all farkles and accessories a few pages back on this thread. It links to the .ms sight.

I have the Altrider radiator cover which is perfect in my opinion.

Congrats on the new bike.

MS 1200 electrics

I'm trying to figure out if the new MS 1200 Touring uses the BMW style plugs where one would connect electric clothing. Can anyone assist with this?

Yes on euro (BMW) plugs, two. But connected to Canbus system. I rewired one direct to battery, and put 10 amp fuse to other . I think the 7.5 amp was too small. Its under the seat.
Allen.

I have tried the clothing plugged into the underseat sockets. They vibrate out within a few minutes on the road. Many have had the same issue.
This winter I am going to run an extension up under the seat and out the front. i will cable tie the plug of the extension lead into the socket to stop it falling out.

Its very frustrating that these things aren't road tested before release.

Is there a place/source to buy the Palmer windscreen bracket adapter in the US?

Nope, but there are plenty of folks from the States that order from him. I wouldn't worry about anything if I was to order from him. He has a very good reputation, first with the Uly crowd and now with the Multistrada.

I've never done business with him but have read of severral guys with his stuff and they sing his praises.

I ordered a palmer adapter and screen and he was extremely responsive. I had to wait a few weeks for them to get a new shipment in stock, so for the inconvenience he sent it express mail to Detroit. The product works great.

I would highly recommend giving them a try.

I too ordered Palmer windscreen brackets from Palmer (for my Buell, not a Multi) and was pleased with the ordering process and even more pleased with the product. I highly recommend them.
