Part of the cool of the current Multi is how ugly it is. Like an old girlfriend, kinda ugly in the face but a really nice ass. I have a 2006 S and it is wicked cool but I like the looks of the new speculation. Don't generally look forward to November but this is the exception.

Everybody rips on the Multistrada but the guys who can and do ride everything from Desmosedici's to Hyper's at the local stealership swear its the best bike in the Ducati lineup. The guys at Canyonchasers.net have a affinity for them as well. That said, the styling isn't great, but better than the outgoing model IMO.

Visordown (from Motorrad) reports it's called the Ducati Cayenne.

Wonder if that's why VW wanted to buy out Ducati....

The bike is sitting on a public street with no one around? Where's all the closeup pics??? Maybe this is part of a controlled leak from inside. I was hoping for a GS competitor not just a tall streetbike...I hope Cagiva comes out with a new elefant that is like the pics that have been around a while.

All of the shots have screamed controlled leak. I enjoyed the Yamaha TDM i had last year - except for a lack of power. This could quite happily solve that issue. Unless Yamaha bring out an updated TDM. Can't see that though, as they have lost a lot of money this year.

I want a streetfighter with a big tank and an extra inch of suspension travel at each end. My only disappointment is that the ergonomics (seat/tank) look more sport bike than hypermotard and I rather like the flat seat-tank juncture of the HM (safer and more comfortable imho).

A 1198R motor and FI system could be fitted for even more power

I'm seriously digging the specs of this bike, pics so far look like they are trying to compete with Buell for making the world's ugliest bike which is a shame, but I'd likely ride one anyway if they go ahead and essentially make a streetfighter with longer suspension and a big tank. If they go soft and neuter the motor I'd be inclined to skip it though and look for a crashed street fighter as a starting point...

Some big noise from Ducati said that there was no point bringing out a Tiger rival if it wasn't faster, lighter and more powerful. I think it'll be a real road ripper.

[quote=paul thompson]We need more speculation regarding this model.

It's gonna sell like hotcakes for the first couple of years to the well heeled.
Jeez, I wish I was well heeled... Someone coined the phrase:
"A 1098 on stilts" long ago, still pretty well sums it up !

Bring on the wet clutch, intelligent areodynamics, good weight distribution and the capability of carrying really stupid loads without dancing the fandango and flog the living piss out of it in all types of riding conditions, before releasing it to the unsuspecting public (big radiator, cooling capacity, reliable electronics etc...).

Hurry up and get a preproduction model to Gary Egan, to mile out in scorching US climates. Suprise the world market with a bombproof first gen release, leave the moto-journalists speechless and befuddled and they'd have a runaway success on their hands. It's gonna be expensive, so it better be good Ducati !

At least that's my hopes, from an old bevel drive worshipper eons ago...
